Sorry guys, I said last week that the alternative venue during the Fringe season is the Baha’i Centre Of Learning 279 Flinders Street Adelaide SA 5000. However I have been recently advised that the Baha’i Centre Of Learning will be unavailable because it is currently undergoing renovations. So, at present we don’t actually have a venue and are looking for one. If you know of a venue that will be available at a reasonable price, please let me know (loc(at)adelaidedance(dot)com):

Hello and welcome to 2011, hope you had an excellent Christmas and New Years!

I’ve got some quick announcements to make about salsa classes in 2011 and also some survey results to share with you.

1. Hip hop classes have been cancelled, instead we will focus on salsa and raising funds to run special events which will allow us to bring in guest instructors who have expertise in a broader range of dance styles.

2. The price of salsa classes is now $5 (this is a flat fee and includes both beginner and intermediate classes). Also, you will have an opportunity to purchase a 10 class pass for $30 or a 12 month membership for $70.

3. Classes kick off this Friday the 14th of January 2011 8.30pm for the beginners’ class and 9.30pm for the intermediate class.

And for those of you who are interested, here are the survey results:

What did you like most about our dance classes in 2010?

  • Learning without any stress involved.
  • The friendship and the community.

  • Need more people to come.

  • More frequent emails about classes.
  • More bachata, modern jive, etc.
  • Be more scheduled.
  • Get more people to come.
  • Better planning of songs to be played for the lessons and social dancing (we would love to dance late till at least 11.30pm).
